THE CHALLENGE
A newsroom, but no library
Slack is where Coastal's global team talks in real time, and internally it's excellent at that. But a chat stream, however lively, is built for the moment rather than for permanence, as news gets buried under the next thread with no single lasting place to send someone looking for the authentic, unfiltered version of the truth. Coastal's previous site, “Coastal Chronicle,” was a basic single-page wiki that hadn't kept pace either.

First Week Struggles
Coastal's People & Culture team kept coming back to one scenario to illustrate the gap: a consultant in their first week, still finding their footing in Slack, with no obvious place to go for the basics, such as who the teams are, what Coastal stands for, and where the essentials live.
